Sesbania gum (sesbania galactomannan) is a natural polysaccharide extracted from the endosperm of sesbania seeds. Key specifications include: galactomannan content 72-82%, protein ≤5%, moisture ≤12%, ash ≤1.5%, and crude fiber ≤1%. Viscosity of 1% solution at 25°C ranges from 2,000-5,000 cps depending on grade.
Physical characteristics include an off-white to light tan color, neutral pH (6.0-7.5 in 1% solution), and complete solubility in water at room temperature. The powder is free-flowing, non-hygroscopic under normal storage conditions, and has a shelf life of 18-24 months when stored in cool, dry conditions.
